Welcome to the 2018 Autumm Mini-Fotomarathon Berlin within the European Month of Photography
This year´s autumm mini-fotomarathon takes place on Saturday 13th of October 2018
The mini fotomarathon is -as the name suggests- a small and reduced version of the traditional 12 hour fotomarathon. The pictures taken are downloaded at the end of the event and projected which gives everybody the possibility to talk about each others pictures, explain them, and comment. We invite everybody to exchange ideas and experiences.
In addition to producing high level photography, the Fotomarathon challenges participants to discover the city from a new perspective. Those who want can also use a tripod, passers-by become participants, friends turn into art directors and lighting assistants.
We start at 15.000. The Fotomarathon Team will be there since 14.00. The meeting place is the Visitor Center at the Berlin Wall Memorial, Bernauerstrasse 119, Berlin
Who can participate?
Everyone with enthusiasm and a digital camera with a memory card can take part and accept the challenge in heart and soul. At this point we cannot accept participation with a mobile phone. Whether amateur or professional, alone or in a team, an original Berliner or a visitor –the most important thing is to be creative, relentless and tireless. Participant numbers are limited to 50 participants.
Mini Fotomarathon – how does that work?
14:00 hs: The Fotomarathon team is at the location, and participants can collect their start numbers and additional information.
15.00 hours: We are ready to go! Participants get their start number, the six topics, and instructions to go to the final meeting point. There are no intermediate meeting points on a mini fotomarathon.
19.00 – 19.30 hours: After 4 hours of Fotomarathon, the six digital pictures will be downloaded from the participants´camera by the Fotomarathon team. We will prepare a slideshow and look at the pictures together, chat and there will be the possibility to get something to drink/eat as well. All participants will be able to vote for their favourite photo series, and the winner will take the “People’s Choice Award” and a small prize, including a free ticket for the 2019 Fotomarathon in Berlin
Whether amateur or professional, alone or in a team, an original Berliner or a visitor –the most important thing is to be creative, relentless and tireless. Participant numbers are limited to 50 participants.
During this event we cannot accept analog cameras, as we plan to see the photos together after the event ends.
We will announce the start location in September, after the Fotomarathon team returns after the summer break.
